Authors, their publicists, or their agents must submit an online application to have their book considered for the 2024 Montana Book Festival.
The Montana Book Festival will be accepting submissions from Monday, September 11th, through Saturday, June 15th, 2024. Festival events will take place September 5th-8th, 2024, in Missoula, Montana at the Missoula Public Library
You will be asked to both upload a PDF copy of your book for review by the selection committee and send a physical copy to:

Missoula, Montana 59801
Only books published or to be published between July 2023 and September 2024 will be considered. Older books expecting a significantly different new edition or re-press may also be considered under special circumstances.
A festival committee will consider the submissions and select the authors who will be invited to the participate in the 2024 festival.
Authors’ titles will be sold in partnership with Fact & Fiction, our Missoula-based, independent bookseller. They will have selected titles available at all relevant author events as well as their main store in Downtown Missoula
Submissions concerning self-published titles will only be considered if they meet the following criteria:

  • Printed copies will be made available for our booksellers to sell.
  • The work has been professionally edited.
  • The author maintains an accessible website or has relevant press materials (other publications, an electronic press kit, etc.).

Books will be selected based on their relevancy to festival attendees and whether their anticipated contribution will add to the artistic, intellectual, regional, and cultural diversity of the festival. Please contact us via a Submittable message with any questions or concerns about your submission. We look forward to reviewing your application.
